Liberty’s Future Needs

posted on 3 January 2009 in General

God’s been good. 2008 brought countless blessings and several challenges to Liberty Baptist Church. We were able to finish our new dining hall building, a long-time need for our church and school. God blessed us with countless souls saved, baptisms, and new church members! I am so blessed to pastor such a wonderful church. 2008 got off to an exceptional start for me personally with the people of LBC honoring my wife and me on our 25th year of ministering at LBC. We thank God for all He has done.

As we reflect on the Lord’s blessings on our church, we also see the needs to facilitate our vision for the future. Here are some needs that I humbly encourage you to pray for:

  • 1.  Hall between the Peoples Memorial Gymnasium and our new Dining Hall. There is a 15 foot opening between these two buildings. We need to enclose this area all the way to the back of our present Fellowship Hall and connect to the hall in front of room 401. The estimated cost of this project is $30,000.
  • 2.  Teen Center. There are several hundred square feet of space above the lobby and restrooms in the Peoples Memorial Gymnasium. This area is really wasted space which needs to be used. The Teen Center would be adjacent to our gym and could be used for our teens in hundreds of ways! The estimated cost of this project is $200,000.
  • 3.  New Nursery Wing.  This would be an addition adjacent to our Auditorium on the west side toward our current bus parking lot.  It would house all our nurseries with extra space to house all our little ones.  The estimated cost of this project is $400,000.
  • 4.  Baseball field.  We surely enjoy our softball/soccer field, however, we need a baseball field.  We have had hundreds of loads of dirt donated and delivered to us, and the area is now ready to be developed.  We plan for a first-class baseball field.  The estimated cost of this project is $25,000.

These are some of the projects which are before us. Everyone is asked to pray. Some may be able to help in a significant way financially. Others may want to add one of these projects in your will and testament. Just think, God could use you even after you are in Heaven!

Speaking of your will….Does your will reflect God’s will? Will the ones receiving your assets honor the Lord with the money? Will those receiving it at least tithe to the Lord on what they receive? Have you earnestly prayed about His will for your will and testament? Our will and testament should definitely reflect His will for His glory!
